| The Quarry
Room Named after the
Native American sacred area where the mining of the precious
Pipestone rock of the Pipestone National Monument was and still is
being mined for peace pipes. For centuries, tribes have gathered at
the Pipestone Quarry to obtain the smooth red rock they use to make
pipes. The area was a neutral zone, where different Indian tribes came
together in peace.
Our guests find our 2nd floor
Quarry Room to be large as well as very peaceful. Located on the east side of
the main building, the morning sun lingers as it rises to a quiet
and relaxing rural lifestyle. TV/VCR, shared "Iowa State Fair"
bathroom and a common snack area.
